Putting several shifts on one calendar invite

Merge lets everyone working the same hours share one Google invite, even across different services. Here's how it works and what it changes.

Normally each box under Service shifts is its own Google invite. Merge puts several boxes on one invite, so your whole team for that time sees one event with everyone on it.

When you can merge

Only shifts with the exact same start and end time can share an invite. They can be different services and different pay.

When a booking has two or more boxes at the same time, a link appears at the top right of Service shifts: Merge into one calendar event?

How to merge

  1. Tap Merge into one calendar event?
  2. Tick the shifts that should share one invite. Only shifts at the same time can be ticked.
  3. Tap Merge 2 into one event (the number matches how many you ticked).

The merged shifts show a Merged tag.

Sending it to Google

  • Booking not on Google yet: nothing more to do. Push it as usual and the merged shifts go out as one invite.
  • Booking already on Google: press Update under the merged shifts. Logidex sends the one shared invite and deletes the separate invites those shifts used to have.

⚠️ People on those old invites are emailed that they were canceled, and they get the new shared invite. Let your team know so the cancellation doesn't worry anyone.

What the shared invite shows

  • No pay. Pay isn't printed on a merged invite, since it would show everyone's pay to everyone.
  • Notes per service. Notes that differ by service are labeled with the service name.

Adding someone later

Press Duplicate on a shift inside a merged box. The new shift joins the same shared invite.

Undoing it

Tap Unmerge on the merged shifts, then press Push all to Google so each shift gets its own invite again.
